- FROSTBURG — Samuel Webster Crowe, 70, owner of Hilton Florist, died yesterday at Sacred Heart Hospital where he had been a patient two weeks. He had been in ill health one year. He resided at Avilton. A native of New Germany, he was a son of the late Henry S. and Louvina (Duckworth) Crowe. Mr. Crowe was a retired grader operator for the Garrett County Roads Department. Surviving are his widow, Melva (Broadwater) Crowe; three sons, Milton L. Crowe, Cumberland; Hubert J. Crowe, at home, and Owen L. Crowe, Frostburg; three daughters, Mrs. Roy D. Broadwater and Mrs. Harold B. Morris, both of Avilton, and Mrs. Forrest Broadwater, Salisbury, Pa.; three brothers, Lee, Edgar and Harvey Crowe, all of Avilton; two sisters, Mrs. Leonard Wilhelm, Avilton; and Mrs. Earl Garlitz, Star Route, Frostburg, and 16 grandchildren. The body is at the Hafer Frost Mansion Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p. m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 p. m. and 7 to 9 p. m. Services will be conducted there Wednesday at 2 p. m. by Rev. Robert Moxley, pastor of Zion United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Trinity Methodist Cemetery, New Germany.
