- Barton, Md., Dec. 17 - Silas Crowe, 97, a retired farmer of Garrett county, died here Wednesday night at the home of his son, George Crowe. He was a native of Avilton and had resided at Barton seven years. He is survived by three other sons, Robert, Baltimore; Alvin, Lonaconing; and Elmer Crowe, Cumberland; and one daughter, Mrs. Albert Shane, Baltimore; also 28 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was buried in Johnson Cemetery, Finzel, Garrett Co., Maryland.
