Notes |
- Melissa "Missy" White, 47, of Ridgeley, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016. Born on Feb. 19, 1969, Missy was the daughter of Bob and Eileen White, Short Gap. She was a 1987 graduate of Frankfort High School. She is preceded in death by a brother, Bobby White. She was a loving, sweet, caring and extremely funny girl. She would give you the shirt off her back and her last penny. She could make anyone laugh. She treated all of her nieces and nephews so special. She cherished her beloved daughter, Andrea, and she loved her grandson, little man Tate, Jayden, with all her heart. She was always the life of the party at all family events. She had many friends; everyone was her friend. She never met a stranger. Missy was an avid Steelers fan. When you think of Missy, please remember her as the good and decent person she was, not her dark lonely journey that ended her life. Missy is survived by her daughter, Andrea; her grandchild, Jayden, whom she was raising; a stepson, Justin Flick; sisters, Jami Bateson and husband, Jay, and their children, Jill, Jordan, and Whitney; Robin Michaels and husband, Greg, and their children, Hayleigh and Lorrie; brother, Billy White and girlfriend, Mary; Becky Kennedy and husband, Everett, and daughter Haley; Cody White and daughter, Avery; Jenny Baldwin and husband, Shawn, and their daughter, Charlotte; Megan Whithycomb, her best friend, and Jayden's Godmother, Wanda Christopher; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Friends will be received at the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Short Gap on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, from 1 to 2 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Short Gap, on Thursday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Scott Knowlton officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hermon Cemetery, Cumberland. Fly to Jesus, Missy. You have now won the battle. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that contributions be made in Melissa's name to Appalachian Mountain of Hope, 709 Woodsedge Road, Fort Ashby, WV 26719.
