- SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. - William Ray White, 50, of Spotsylvania, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017. Born April
7, 1967, in Cumberland, he was the beloved son of Bob and Eileen White, Short Gap, W.Va. Billy was a 1985 graduate of Frankfort High School in Short Gap. He proudly served for 20 years in the United States Navy, retiring in 2006 with the rank Warrant Officer CW04. He was employed at Vickers and Nolan. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby White; sister, Missy White; grandparents, Ralph and Leannah (Kroll) Beal, and Roy White Sr. and Betty Twigg Kemp; and aunts, Donna Lee (Beal) Rubino, and Faye (White) Thompson. Billy was a big-hearted, fun loving, intelligent person with the biggest, heartiest laugh. He always had a smile on his face. He is survived by his significant other of 17 years, Mary Withycomb; children, Rebecca (White) Kennedy (Everett), Cody White (Candice), Jennifer Baldwin (Shaun), and Megan Withycomb; grandchildren, Haley Kennedy, Avery White, and Charlotte and Luke Baldwin; sisters, Jami Bateson and husband, Jay, and Robin Michaels and husband, Greg; nieces and nephew, Jill, Jordan, Whitney, Andrea, Hayleigh, and Lorrie; and great-nephew, Jayden White. Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. is assisting the family with arrangements. Friends will be received at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Short Gap, on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017, from 1 to 2 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Scott Knowlton officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery, Williams Road, Cumberland. Military honors will be accorded at the graveside by Fort Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.
