  Notes	Lewis Edward "Lew" Tyree, 75, of 1109 Braddock Road, LaVale, a retired lieutenant of Allegany County deputy sheriffs, died yesterday in Sacred Heart Hospital. Mr. Tyree joined the Sheriff’s Department in 1959 and retired as a lieutenant in 1977. During his period as a deputy sheriff he completed a Maryland Police Commission training course in drug abuse; a bomb control seminar sponsored by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the State Fire Marshal’s Office, and a National Rifle Association pistol shooting training course. Prior to his police service, Mr. Tyree was owner of Tyree’s Refrigeration Service. He was a member of Park Place United Methodist Church, Maryland State Sheriff's Association, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 40, Cumberland Council 179, United Commercial Travelers, and the LaVale Volunteer Fire Department. He was born in Beuna Vista, Va., the son of the late Daniel W. and Nannie Elizabeth (Brain) Tyree. He is survived by his widow, Lillian (Crosby) Tyree; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Cover, Cover Valley, LaVale and Mrs. Barbara Blank, Oldtown Road, city; a son, Richard Tyree, Daly City, Calif.; four brothers, Harry W. Tyree, LaVale, James W. Tyree, Cresaptown; Emory H. Tyree, Akron, Ohio and Huston L. Tyree, Augusta, W.Va.; a sister, Cora Lee Nichols, Hagerstown; and six grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence today. Services will be conducted there tomorrow at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Robert C. Sharp.
