- HYNDMAN — Jesse James Piper Jr., 24, an employe of Works 7 of PPG Industries here, was found dead in his home here yesterday of a gunshot wound. Born in Cumberland, he was a son of Jesse J. Piper Sr. and Leona (Lowery) Piper, Ellerslie Road. He completed Army service two years ago. Surviving besides his parents are his widow, Mrs. Elizabeth Mae (Miller) Piper; a daughter Sherry Lynn Piper, at home; two brothers, Luther Piper and John Piper, Ellerslie Road, and two sisters, Mrs. Shirley Clites, Cumberland RD 5, and Miss Barbara Piper, at home. The body is at the Zeigler Funeral Home, here, where a service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p. m. by Rev. Henry A. Border, Homewood Addition, and Rev. Idris Martin, Schellsburg, Pa. Burial will be in Hyndman Cemetery. Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p. m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. The Cumberland Evening Times, December 24, 1969
