- CUMBERLAND — Marian M. Frankenberry, 90, of Cumberland, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at the Lions Center for Rehabilitation and Extended Care. Born on Nov. 5, 1925, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late Jessie R. and Myrtle J. (Keifer) Merrill. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carolyn Z. Frankenberry; three brothers, Jessie Merrill, Frank Merrill, and Charles Merrill; and her sister, Zella Albright. Marian was a homemaker. She enjoyed being around her cats, gardening, cooking, and doing ceramics. Marian was a life member of Mount Savage United Methodist Church, a former member of the Cresaptown Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Oldtown V.F.W. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her husband of 73 years, Ray Frankenberry; her two daughters, Constance Lee Brode, and Sherry S. Burkey and husband, Rick; three grandchildren, Gene Furlow, Jenny Cessna, and Kelly Lynn Burkey; and one great-grandson, Coleton Furlow. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Highway, Cresaptown, on Monday, March 21, 2016, from noon to 1 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, March 21, 2016, at 1 p.m. with Chaplain Velma Deshong officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank Doctor Gupta and the staff at Lions Center for Rehabilitation and Extended care for their exceptional care provided to Marian. Cumberland Times-News, March 19, 2016
