- ELLERSLIE —Anna Stacia Taylor, 89, of Ellerslie, passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Born July 21, 1924, in National, Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Peter Michael Morris and Edna Mae (DeVore) Morris. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Richard Morris; and a sister, Shirley Plummer. Anna was a former employee of the Celanese Fiber Corporation of America supporting the war effort, then at Crystal Laundry before becoming a housewife and homemaker. She enjoyed fishing and canoeing at their camp at Little Orleans for over 40 years. Anna is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles Taylor; her nieces, who were more like daughters, Carol A. Hillegas and husband, Earl and Theresa A. Stevens and husband, Larry, all of LaVale. She also leaves behind her sisters, Mary Plummer, LaVale and Delores Stottlemeyer, Rawlings; her brother, the Reverend Francis Morris and wife, Shirley, Cumberland; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews; and her two dogs, Riley and Bailey. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 from 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Larry Stevens officiating. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Steven Hillegas, Roland Smith, Jesse Stevens, and Virgil Taylor Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Hillegas and Matthew Stevens. Cumberland Times-News, February 2, 2014
