- Virginia B. Plummer, 90, of Frostburg, died Thursday, July 10, 2008 at the Frostburg Village Nursing Home in the New Horizons Unit. Born March 10, 1918 in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Raymond P. Blank and Annie O. (Logsdon) Blank. She was also predeceased by her husband in 1976, Howard A. Plummer; and two brothers; Willard Blank and Harold Blank. Mrs. Plummer was a teacher at Catonsville, Corriganville and Parkside Schools and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, Allegany County Teacher’s Association, University Women, Frostburg State Alumni Association, Frostburg Garden Club and Frostburg Food Pantry and Frostburg American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving is a son, Robert H. Plummer and wife Darla Marie Plummer; one grandson, James R. Plummer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Hafer Funeral Service, PA, Chapel of the Hills, 1302 National Hwy., LaVale, on Monday, July 14, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The American Legion Auxiliary will hold a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gerald Evens officiating. Interment will follow in the Frostburg Memorial Park, Frostburg. Pallbearers will be Bill Hunt, Darren Diaz, Rob DeVore, Tony McCullough, Roy DeVore and Randy George.
