Notes	MOUNT SAVAGE — Shirley Catherine (Rice) Kenney, 77, of Mount Savage, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012, at home. Born Feb. 4, 1935, in Mount Savage, she was the daughter of the late William Rice and Myrtle (Winebrenner) Rice. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Kenney, in 2009; brothers, William Rice, Russell Rice, Elmer Rice; and sisters, Hilda Shimko and Ruby Ryan. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Mount Savage, the Mount Savage Historical Society, and of the graduating class of 1953 from Mount Savage. She is survived by five children, Linda Welsh and husband Jim, of Cumberland, Thomas Kenney Jr., of Cumberland, Dianna Kenney and life partner Deborah Tooley, of Mount Savage, Joseph Kenney and wife Lisa, of LaVale and Dawn Mellott and special friend Robert Pritt, of Martinsburg; ten grandchildren, Jalin Daum and fiance Marshall Swick, Tyler Kenney and wife Savannah, Amanda Mellott, Chad Kenney, Shane Tooley, Jesse Kenney and girlfriend Kaitlyn Growden, Cody Kenney, Dane Mellott and girlfriend Angeles Dixon, Desiree Tooley, and Brandon Kenney and girlfriend Becca Growden; great-grandchildren, Austin, Leia and Lacey Swick, Adaya Carmouche, and Coy Kenney; and a brother, Donald C. Rice and wife Mary, of Frostburg. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Thursday, March 29, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Christian wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, March 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Father Bernard Finerty O.F.M. Cap., as celebrant. Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap. Pallbearers will be Shirley's grandchildren, Tyler Kenney, Jesse Kenney, Brandon Kenney, Chad Kenney, Cody Kenney, Dane Mellott, Shane Tooley, Austin Swick, Jalin Daum, Amanda Mellott, and Desiree Tooley.
