- Reggie Lee Smeak, 57, of Hyndman, died early Sunday morning, June 15, 1975, in the Forbes Hospital System, Columbia Division Hospital in Wilkinsburg. He was born March 22, 1918, in Duquesne, Pa., a son of the late Harry Ellsworth Smeak and Lillie Ann Myrtrude (Purbaugh) Smeak. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Mae (Logsdon) Smeak; two sons, Roger Lee Smeak, of Glencoe, Pa.; and Ronald Leroy Smeak, of Myersdale; and two daughters, Mrs. Guy D. Shaffer, of Hyndman; and Mrs. Ralph T. Myers, of Fairhope, Pa. A brother, Russell Leroy Smeak, of Augusta, Georgia; and two sisters, Mrs. Raymond E. Minnick, of Hyndman; and Mrs. James Stanley, of Mt. Morris, Michigan, also survive, along with ten grandchildren. Mr. Smeak was a veteran of World War II, with the Air Force. He served aboard an aircraft armorer in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Also a member of the United Church of Christ. Funeral services: Wednesday, June 18, at 2 p.m. in the Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, with Rev. Leroy Logsdon officiating. Burial in the Madley Cemetery. The Oscar Jordon Post VFW No. 7375 will accord military rites and act as pall bearers. Friends will be received in the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
