Notes	RICE, William Elmer MT. SAVAGE - William E. Rice, 70, died yesterday at Sacred Heart Hospital where he had been admitted April 12. A native of Mt. Savage, he was a son of the late George P. and Sadie (Resser) Rice. He was a retired miner and a World War I veteran. He was a member of UMWA Mt. Savage Local, Old Rail Post VFW 6025 and of St. George Episcopal Church. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle (Winebrenner) Rice; three daughters, Mrs. John Shimko, Akron; Mrs. John Ryan, Turtle Creek, Pa.; Mrs. Thomas D. Kenny, Cleveland; four sons, William G. Rice, with the Navy at Baltimore; Russell F. and Donald C. Rice, here, and Elmer W. Rice, Baltimore; a grandson, Patrick B. Shimko, at home; 21 other grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert C. Rice, Mt. Savage; and a sister, Mrs. William Madden. The body will be at the home of his son Donald Rice, Calla Hill, where the litany for the departed will be read today at 7 p.m. A service will be conducted on Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. George's Episcopal Church by Rev. William E. M cGrew. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Old Rail Post 6025 Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct military rites at graveside.
