  Notes	FROSTBURG — Funeral services will be held today at 5 p. m. in Baltimore for Dr. M. Gibson Porter, 85, Roland Park, Baltimore, a former mayor of Lonaconlng, who died Saturday morning at Union Memorial Hospital there, where he had been a patient for 10 days. Rev. L. B. Browne, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, Frostburg, will officiate at a burial service tomorrow at 1 p. m. in Allegany Cemetery here. A son of the late G. Ellis Porter and Alcinda Gibson Porter, Lonaconing, Dr. Porter resided there until 1904 when he moved to Baltimore. He served two terms as mayor of Lonaconing, and was a member of the Lonaconing baseball team in his youth. After attending Allegany County Academy in Cumberland and Dickinson College, he obtained his medical degree at the University of Maryland in 1889. In 1900, Dr. Porter married Miss Margretta C. Price, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Andrew Balllie Price, Frostburg. His wife died in 1938. He was a vestryman of St. David's Episcopal Church, Roland Park. Dr. Porter estimated recently, that he had delivered about 3,000 babies. He retired from active practice in 1945 and recently broke his hip in a fall. Surviving are five children, Baillie P. Porter, Alexander Shaw Porter, Gibson Porter and Margretta C. Porter, all of Baltimore, and Mrs. Charles C. Code, Hollidaysburg, Pa., and three grandchildren.
