- Richard Harold Loar Sr., 57, of 230 National Highway, LaVale, died suddenly Tuesday at his residence. Born in Loartown, he was a son of the late Richard John and Eva Irene (Porter) Loar. Mr. Loar was a components inspector at Allegany Ballistics Laboratory, a veteran of World War II, and a member of Park Place United Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, Lotta (Folk) Loar: one son, Richard H. Loar Jr., Orlando, Fla.; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Ann Barb, LaVale; one brother, G. Clifton Loar, LaVale, and three grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary in LaVale from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. A service will be conducted there tomorrow at 1 p.m. by Rev. Clifford H. Kelbaugh. Interment will follow in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Cumberland News, June 19, 1975
