- Mrs. Miranda Ryan, 84, died Saturday at her home in Eckhart following an illness of six months. A native of Eckhart, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Engle) Porter and the widow of George R. Ryan. She is the last member of her immediate family. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Porter and Mrs. Viva Lancaster; two sons, Robert and Russell Ryan, all of Eckhart; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Eckhart Square Circle Sportsmen's Club Auxiliary, Clarysville Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary, Frostburg Lodge Women of the Moose and Miners Hospital Auxiliary. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home in Frostburg where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home Tuesday at 2 p. m. Rev. William Anderson will officiate and interment will be in the Porter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Michaels, Vincent Engle, Nathan Porter, Russell Porter, Marshal Porter and George Skidmore.
