LONACONING — Betty L. Hacker, 65, of Watercliff Street, Lonaconing, died Tuesday, Sept. 27,1994 at Memorial Hospital in Cumberland. Born Dec. 11, 1928 at Lonaconing, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Walters and Stella (Gallagher) Walters. Mrs. Hacker was a retired cook at Allegany County Nursing Home in Cumberland; a member of Auxiliary Unit 189, American Legion, Barton; a member of Barton Rod and Gun Club and a member of the Senior Citizens of Lonaconing. She worked on Share and Ship Food Commodity Program in the George’s Creek Area. Surviving are her husband, Charles H. Hacker; one daughter, Stella Marie Donaldson, Lonaconing; one son, Charles William Hacker, Westminster; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Emma Jean Johnson, Cumberland, and Norma Poland, Reisterstown, Md. Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home in Lonaconing on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Auxiliary Unit 189, American Legion will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Webb officiating. Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap. Cumberland Times-News, Wednesday, September 28, 1994
