LONACONING - William Julius Jacobs, 69, of St. Mary’s Terrace, died Saturday at the Hospice Unit at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born April 14, 1916, at Moscow, he was a son of the late William Alvie Jacobs and Bertha (Green) Jacobs. He was a retired carpenter, an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Church of the Brethren and the Senior Citizens of Lonaconing. Surviving are his widow, Beulah Loretta (Hacker) Jacobs; two daughters, Mrs. Rosalie Winters of Shaft and Mrs. Betty Metz of Baltimore; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Wibrech of Frostburg, Miss Virginia Jacobs of California and the Rev. Estella Hare of Falling Waters, W.Va.; two brothers, Vincent Jacobs of Gilmore and Norman Jacobs of Moscow, and six grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Eichhorn Funeral Home. Services will be conducted Tuesday, 1 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. William Preston officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Cumberland Sunday Times, July 14, 1985
