- FROSTBURG — Helen Louise Kirchner, 63, of Frostburg, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016, at home. Born on Aug. 22, 1952, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Smith) Layman. She was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Ruth Kirchner; and her father-in-law, Roy Kirchner. Helen was a graduate of Beall High School. She was a certified nursing assistant. She was a lifelong member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church in Frostburg. Helen enjoyed doing word searches, being with her husband, and loved cats and dogs. Surviving are her husband, James Kirchner; one son, James Kirchner and wife, Sherry; one daughter, Dayla L. Cook and husband, Rick; one sister, Peggy Tomlinson and husband, Bob; one brother, Harry John Eugene Layman and wife, Beth; three grandchildren Sahana, Rebecca, and Katie; numerous nieces and nephews. As per her request, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be conducted at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Frostburg, on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at 11 a.m. Arrangements are entrusted to the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland.
