  Notes	He died on 3 Nov 2004 at the age of 83 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. FROSTBURG - George H. Griffith, 83, died Wednesday at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born May 8, 1921, in Finzel, he was the son of the late William F. and Pearl (McKenzie) Griffith. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Pearl "Babe" Miller, and four brothers, Clayton, Russell, Robert and Vernard. He was an active member of Salem United Church of Christ, a member of the Consistory for many years and was an usher. He was a bricklayer by trade and built numerous brick structures within the area. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the 7th Army in Africa and France. He retired from PPG. He was a member of Frostburg Lions, American Legion Post 24, Frostburg Museum Assoc., Mt. Lodge #99 A.F.& A.M. and the Scottish Rite body in Cumberland. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Harriet (Brode) Griffith; daughter, Lucinda and husband, Richard Blagg, Portsmouth, VA; two sons, Douglas Griffith and wife, Patti, Millsboro, DE, and Jeffrey Griffith, Grantsville; and dear friends Liz and Ron Boyer, Grantsville. Also surviving are grandsons, Benjamin and Alexander Blagg; sister-in-law, Amelia Alexander, Frostburg; three sisters, Nancy Grant, Cumberland, Verna Davis, Portsmouth, Jane Cumisky, Phoenix, AZ; and two brothers: Joe Griffith, Portsmouth, VA, and Blaine Griffith, Oakdale, CA. At his request, his body has been cremated. Friends will be received at Salem United Church of Christ, 78 Broadway, Frostburg, on Saturday from 10:30 a. m. until noon. A Memorial Service will be held there at noon, with The Rev. Margee Iddings officiating. A reception will follow the service at Failinger's Hotel Gunter, 11 W. Main St., Frostburg. Inurnment will be at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery, Sharon, PA.
