MARSHALL A. GRUBAUGH, 75, CENTRALIA
"Marshall A. Grubaugh, 75, of Centralia, died at 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 1998, at St. Mary's Hospital, Centralia."
"Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Irvin Funeral Home Chapel, Centralia, with the Rev. James Gullen and the Rev. Perry Schefelker officiating. Visitation was to be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park with military rites accorded by the VFW Post #2055 and American Legion Post #446. Memorials: Centralia American Legion and Alzheimers Support Group at Centralia Manor."
"Mr. Grubaugh was born on Nov. 3, 1922, in Fayette County, Illinois, the son of Charles Grubaugh and Mary Logue Grubaugh. He had resided in the Centralia area since 1962 and was a veterans employment representative at Illinois Department of Employment Security for more than 30 years. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during World War II. He was a member of the Centralia American Legion Post #446, Centralia VFW Post #2055 and Trinity Lutheran Church. He married Lucille Meseke on May 28, 1950 in Augsburg. She died in November 1991."
"He is survived by daughter, Beth Mischke and husband Chuck of Richview; brother, Ray Grugaugh of Vandalia; sisters, Olive Ober of Vandalia and Betty Smail of Greenville; brother-in-law, Norman Ober of Vandalia; sisters-in-law, Agnes Grubaugh of Vandalia, Mildred Grubaugh of St. Elmo and Cordelia Meseke of Shobonier; and several nieces and nephews."
