"Lewis Edward Grubaugh, 76, of Vandalia died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 1986, in St. John's Hospice, Springfield."
"Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Mother of Dolors Catholic Church, Vandalia, with Fr. Eugene Costa officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Ramsey. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, with a 7 p.m. wake service. Memorials: Project We Care Store c/o Mother of Dolors Catholic Church or Concerned Citizens for Fayette County Health."
"Mr. Grubaugh was born Apri 15, 1909, in Fayette County, son of Charles E. and Mary M. Logue Grubaugh. He was a retired custodian for the Vandalia School Distirct and a member of Mother of Dolors Catholic Church. He married Agnes C. Durbin on Oct. 14, 1936, in Ramsey."
"Surviving are his wife, son, J. Wayne Grubaugh of Mount Prospect; daughter, Norma Cearlock of Vandalia; brothers, William of St. Elmo, Ray of Vandalia, and Marshall of Centralia; sisters, Esta Kline of Altamont; Ruth Grubaugh and Mrs Norman (Olive) Ober, both of Vandalia, and Mrs. Delmar (Betty) Smail of Greenville; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death."
