"Charles Edward Grubaugh, 84, died at 3:50 p.m. Monday, March 25, at his home at 114 East Randolph St., Vandalia."
"Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Esta Kline of Altamont; Mrs. Ruth Grubaugh, and Mrs. Olive Ober, both of Vandalia; Mrs. Betty Smail of Greenville; sons, Lewis and Ray, both of Vandalia; Willie of St. Elmo; Marshall of Centralia; sisters, Mrs. Nora Watson of Decatur; Mrs. Amanda Barr of Mahomet; brother, Homer of Decatur; grandchildren."
"Funeral services {at} 2 p.m. Thursday in Vandalia in Vandalia Free Methodist Church of which Mr. Grubaugh was a member, with Rev. Vernon Parsons of Cowden and Rev. Lindh Young, pastor of the local Free Methodist Church, officiating."
