"DOTY'S FUNERAL WILL BE MONDAY"
"Paul (Gene) Doty, 54, of 109 DeBruler Dr. died at 3:35 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Hospital in Springfield where he had undergone brain surgery Tuesday. He was owner and operator of Doty's Jewelry store in Lincoln in the Arcade Building."
"The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's church with the Rev. Edward H. Westermann officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's demetery (sic). Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening at the Kerrigan Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m."
"The deceased was born Nov. 27, 1914, at Altamont, a son of St. Clair and Melissa McKenzie Doty. He married Marge Resnik Jan. 27, 1940, in Springfield."
"Surviving are his wife; two sons, Charles P., with the Peace Corps Chillan, in Chile, South America; J. Michael, Lincoln; his father, Bement; three brothers, Raymond and Byron, both of Decatur; Francis, Bement; and two sisters, Mrs. Golda Brady, Decatur; and Mrs. Villa Hendrix, Bethesda, Md. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother."
"Mr. Doty was a member of St. Mary's church, held third and fourth degrees of the Lincoln Council 1250 Knights of Columbus, was a member of Lincoln Elks Lodge 914 and the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce."
