- Virgil D. Hinkle, 62, of 512 Ridgewood Avenue, died yesterday shortly after being admitted to Memorial Hospital. He was a weighmaster for the B & O here and had been an employee of the company 41 years. Mr. Hinkle, who resided here about 50 years, was born in Elkins, W.Va. a son of the late Philmore H. and Mary Virginia (Wentling) Hinkle. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and Fort Cum – (line missing) of Railway Clerks. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Atlanta (Tichnell) Hinkle, a daughter, Mrs. Juanita McKenzie, city; a son, James V. Hinkle, Oakland; a sister, Mrs. Rose B. Beall, city, and two grandchildren. The body is at the Kight Funeral Home. Services will be conducted Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home by Rev. Russell E. Fink, pastor of St. John’s Church, and interment will be in Davis Memorial Burial Park. Cumberland Evening Times, Friday, September 18, 1959
