- RAWLINGS — Lawrence Minick, 69, of 17613 McMullen Highway, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1991 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. Born March 8, 1922 in Garrett County, he was the son of the late Albert and LuLu (Caton) Minick. Mr. Minick was retired from Beener Coal Company and was also a veteran of WW II where he served in the Army Air Force. Survivors include his present wife, Mary (Lancaster) Minick; first wife, Ruth (Burley) Minick, Corriganville; one son, Lawrence Minick Jr., Bel Air; three daughters, Judith Gordon, Corriganville, Truda McCarty, Westernport, Bonnie Cutter, Frostburg; one sister, Ethel McKenzie, Frostburg; two brothers, Elmer Minick, Avilton, Conrad Minick, Severna Park; five grandsons and one great-granddaughter. Friends will be received at Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg. Services will be conducted there on Friday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Arthur J. Evans. Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Timothy Gordon, Charles Gordon, James Gordon, Donald Dewire, David Dewire and Billy Minick. The Cumberland Times-News, Thursday, December 19, 1991
