- CUMBERLAND — Geraldine J. “Geri” Kelley, 76, of Cumberland, passed away on June 24, 2019. Born in Frostburg, on May 9, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Helen (McKenzie) Weimer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Gerald “Chub” Weimer; brother, James “Jimmy”
Weimer. Geri grew up on Shades Lane in Cumberland, and she graduated from Fort Hill High School, class of 1961.
Following high school, she attended Catherman’s Business School. She was employed at Regan National Airport, and she had worked in the banking industry in Colorado. Geri retired working for an art sales company. Geri had lived in the District of Columbia and the Denver, Colorado areas. After her retirement, she returned to Cumberland.
She was an active member of Livingstone Church of the Brethren who helped to prepare meals at the church with the dinner group. Geri enjoyed quilting, gardening, and she was a wonderful baker and cook. Her grandchildren particularly enjoyed her potato salad and her holiday cookies. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Allen E. Kelley; son, Darrick C. Kelley and wife, Laura; grandchildren, Griffin A. Kelley, and Addison G. Kelley; brother, William “Bill” Weimer and wife, Linda; sisters, Janet Leasure and husband, Claude, and Patricia Graham and her husband, Durward “Dude” Graham Jr., who passed away in 2014. Geri is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tom Woods officiating. Burial will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap.
