- Carl J. Werner of Salisbury died March 8 in the Oakland Veterans Administration Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was 62. Mr. Werner was born January 20, 1909, in Finzel, Md., the son of the late John T. and Margaret Caton Werner. He leaves his wife, Lucille McKenzie Werner of Salisbury; a son, John W. of Salisbury, and a daughter, Mrs. Dixie Spiker, also of Salisbury. He also is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Race of Baltimore, Mrs. Kathleen Meyers of Somerset RD, and Dorothy Mosholder and Mrs. Edna Snyder, both of Rockwood RD, and nine grandchildren. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of West Salisbury, a veteran of World War II, a member of the Salisbury American Legion and Veteran of Foreign Wars posts. Requiem high mass will be sung Friday at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Father John J. Marshall, and interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Salisbury.
