- Former Schellsburg resident, Robert Allen Monnett, 44, died Sunday, May 23, following a heart attack at his home in Key West, Fla. He had operated the Monnett Country Grocery Store in Schellsburg and was an employee of the Bedford Springs Hotel for many years. After residing in Manchester, Pa., he moved to Key West 8 and 1/2 years ago. Surviving are his wife, Ida (Tew) Monnett, and son Gary in Key West; two daughters: Lucinda Hadas of Key West and Brenda Nichols of Norfolk, Va.; four brothers: Melvin and Harold, both of Baltimore, Md., Bill of Hyndman and John of Tiffin, Ohio; and four sisters: Dorothy Glessner and Annie Glessner; both of Somerset; Helen Caton, Berlin, Pa., and Evelyn Coughenour, Chattanooga, Tenn. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Saturday at White Street Church of God, Key West. Interment: Southern Keys Cemetery, Big Coppitt, Fla. Arrangements are by the Pritchard Funeral Home of Key West.
