- Evelyn P. Coughenour, 73, of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., formerly of Hyndman, died Tuesday, July 14, 1998, at her home. She was born May 23, 1925, in Ridgeley, W.Va., a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Martha (Chaney) Monnett. She was married to Jay E. Coughenour, who died Dec. 17, 1977. She is survived by two daughters: Alice, wife of Lynn Christner, of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., and Judy Coughenour of Hixon, Tenn.; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by two brothers, Melvin Monnett of Baltimore, Md., and John Monnett of Tifton, Ohio; and two sisters, Ann Shippey and Dorothy Glessner, both of Somerset. Mrs. Coughenour was a member of the Community Bible Church in Soddy Daisy. Graveside services: 11 a.m. Friday at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Buffalo Mills RD, with the Rev. Dr. Merle Correll officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Community Bible Church, 4002 Poe Road, Soddy Daisy, Tenn. 37379.
