- Frostburg, Jan. 29 — Thomas W. Wilhelm, 67, retired coal miner, who served as janitor at the Frostburg post office, died this morning at his home, 1 Welsh Street, of pneumonia after an Illness of a month. Mr. Wilhelm was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Wilhelm, Avilton. He was born in Avilton but spent most of his life in Frostburg, where he was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Holy Name Society. He married the former Effie Garlitz whom he survived 27 years. Surviving are nine children: George E., Detroit; Mrs. Collie Carrello, Washington; Paul K., Elkins, W. Va.; and Bernard, Charles T., Mrs. Orlando Parise, Mrs. Richard Conley, Mrs. Robert Zinn and Mrs. William Roberts, all of Frostburg; three brothers: James, Frostburg; Benjamin, Seattle, Wash., and Charles, of Hyde Park, Vt.; and two sisters, Miss Laura Wilhelm and Mrs. William Hetz, both of Avilton. The body will remain at the residence. Services will be held Friday at 8:30 a. m. at St. Michael's Church with burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Cumberland. Cumberland Evening Times, January 29, 1947
