Mrs. Virginia "Ginny" A. McKenzie, 75, of 5618 Boone Ave., Frederick, died Saturday, May 18, at College View Center, Frederick. She was the wife of Blaine J. McKenzie, whom she married Jan. 1, 1949. Born Sept. 4, 1926, in Washington, she was a daughter of the late Melvin W. and Katherine E. Olden Phillips. Mrs. McKenzie was formerly a member of Brownsville Church. She had worked with Sagner's Inc., Frederick, for many years. She enjoyed flowers and was an avid fan of the World Wrestling Federation. Surviving in addition to her husband are four children, Norma Dean Runkles and husband Floyd of Mount Airy, Leo Blaine McKenzie and wife Kay of Knoxville, Harold Leroy McKenzie and wife Patsy of Knoxville, and Donna Marie McKenzie Crum and husband Todd of Frederick; eight grandchildren, Sandra Runkles Cavangh, Teresa Jean Tomasini, Tanya Marie Flabbi, Kimberly Dawn Moore, Michael Joseph McKenzie, Ashley Ann McKenzie, Bradley Scott Crum and Emily Nicole Crum; seven great-grandchildren, Amanda, Shannon, Taylor, Justin, Amanda, David and Briana; two sisters, Frances Runkles of Knoxville, and Pauline Lawson of New Market; two brothers, Bill Phillips of Brunswick, and Buck Phillips of Knoxville; one brother-in-law, Oliver McKenzie and wife Bertha; two sisters-in-law, Lena Swanson and husband Ernie, and Ruth Elaine Summers; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. McKenzie was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Webber; one brother, Frank Phillips; and one sister, Elizabeth Diehl. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 20, at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at the funeral home. The Rev. Ronald E. Reaves, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
