- LONACONING — Ronald “Ronnie” Raymond Bennett, 43, of Rockville Street, Lonaconing, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2003, at his residence. Born Aug. 5, 1960, at Frostburg, he was the son of the late Irvin L. “Irv” Bennett and Hazel Marie (Gaither) Bennett. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Amanda Blair Bennett. Mr. Bennett was employed at Jenkins Chrysler as a mechanic. He was also a member of Maple Shades Sportsman Club in Rawlings. He was an avid bowler, hunter and fisherman. Surviving are his wife, Lois Ann (Housel) Bennett; one daughter, Shannon Marie Bennett; one son, Shane Matthew Bennett; two brothers, Billy Bennett and friend Margie, Gilmore, and Irvin L. Bennett Jr. and wife Sandra, Barton; two sisters, Emma Courtney and husband Doug, Keyser, W.Va., and Shirley Baker and husband Jack, Midland; special friends, Ed and Sue Steele, Burlington, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Midland, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Madeline Cook officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Steven Courtney, Michael Courtney, Richard Bennett, Martin Bennett, Gary Bennett, and John Baker, all nephews. Honorary pallbearer will be Ed Steele. Cumberland Times-News
