- Catherine LUTZ (daughter of George LUTZ and Elizabeth EISEL) was born in 1879 in Mount Savage, Allegany Co., Maryland. She died on 17 Dec 1972. Mt. Savage - Mrs. Catherine McKenzie, 93, of here, died yesterday. She had been in failing health the past eight years. Born here, she was a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Eisel) Lutz. Her husband, Edward McKenzie, preceded her in heath. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, here, and also a member of the sodality. She is survived by a son, Edward McKenzie, Jr., Eckhart; four daughters, Mrs. Lillian Lancaster and Mrs. Thelma Green, both of here; Mrs. Mae DeMann, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Rosetta Johnson, Sarasota, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, where friends will be received today and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Rosary will be recited at the funeral home tomorrow at 8 p.m. The Cumberland Evening Times, December 18, 1972
She was buried on 20 Dec 1972 in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Mount Savage, Allegany Co., Maryland. MT. Savage — Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Catherine McKenzie, 93, of here, who died Sunday, will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church here. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be Edward McKenzie, Richard McKenzie, Richard Green, Joseph Ruffo, Joseph Crowe and Edward Malloy. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, where the rosary will be recited today at 8 p.m. The Cumberland News, December 19, 1972.
