  Notes	ECKHART — James Wesley Porter Sr., 86, of Eckhart, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born May 20, 1927 in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Marshall R. Porter and Myrtle E. (Weires) Porter. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Joanne (Brode) Porter; and a brother, Robert Porter. Jim was a self employed contractor and a retired farmer. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Eckhart Methodist Church, American Legion Farrady Post 24, Frostburg Eagles, and the Frostburg Moose. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed his many fishing trips to Alaska. He is survived by his wife, Norma (Robison) Porter; sons, James W. Porter Jr. and wife Isolde, Mark Diehl and wife Sharon; daughters, Anita Porter and husband Richard Blunt, Carole Diehl and husband Jeff, Beth Sanders and husband, Denny. Also surviving, a granddaughter, Katie Morris and husband Ian; grandsons, Ben Trickett and Cory Porter; great-grandsons, Jesse Porter and Emmett Porter; and sister-in-law, Doris Porter. Also special friends, Harold Baer, James Michaels, and Dale Skidmore. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. with a funeral service following the viewing at 7 p.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating. American Legion Farrady Post 24 will accord military honors at the funeral home. Private inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
