  Notes	ECKHART — Robert “Bob” M. Porter Jr., 88, of Eckhart, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at WMHS Frostburg Nursing and Rehab Center. Born Sept. 20, 1924, in Frostburg to R. Marshall Porter Sr. and Myrtle Weires, he is preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Lisa Marie Porter. Mr. Porter was owner and operator of Porter Brothers Construction and Porter Family Farm; a World War II Merchant Marine and a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Frostburg; Frostburg Elks 470, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 348, Fraternal Order of Eagles Arie 1273, Farrady Post 24 American Legion, and Maplehurst Country Club. He also enjoyed bowling in many leagues. Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Doris (Snyder) Porter; daughter, Kathleen “Kathy” Newman and husband Robert, of Friendsville; son, Michael Robert Porter and wife Lillian “LaLa,” of Frederick; a grandson, Neil Michael Porter, of Canyon City, Colo.; a brother, James Wesley Porter and wife Norma, of Eckhart and a very special niece, Carole Diehl, of Frostburg. Friends and family will be received at Durst Funeral Home P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted in the Durst Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
