"Vera McKenzie, 66, died at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, in St. Anthony Memorial Hospital, Effingham. She had been in ill health several months."
"Born in Altamont on March 23, 1908, she was the daughter of Mrs. Lola McKenzie and the late Charles McKenzie. She had worked in Chicago for many years."

"Funeral services for Vera McKenzie, 66, were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, in Kull Funeral Home. The Rev. J. Paul McLaughlin, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial was in Union Cemetery."
