  Notes	FROSTBURG — Ernest W. Murphy, 80, of 155 Bowery Street, died today in Sacred Heart Hospital, after a short illness. He was born in Garrett County, a son of the late William and Henrietta (Crowe) Murphy. He was a retired Kelly-Springfield Tire Company employe, with 32 years service; a life member of Salem United Church of Christ, and an active elder of the church until 1955 when he became an elder emritus. He was treasurer of the church for 44 years, a member of the Consistory and the Churchmen's Brotherhood and a former Sunday School superintendent. He was also a member of the senior citizens and the Junior Order of American Mechanics. Mr. Murphy is survived by his widow, Lois Pearl (Warnick) Murphy; one son, Edgar R. Murphy, Hagerstown; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Keene, Frostburg; Mrs. Arta Cook, Fredericksburg, Va.; and Mrs. Bertha Fike, Pittsburgh, Pa.; one brother, Marion Murphy, Frostburg; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body is at the Hafer-Sowers Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. A service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home by Rev. George Wehler, with interment in the New Germany Reformed Church Cemetery.
