CUMBERLAND - Rose Mary (Mae) McElfish, 78, of Hagerstown, formerly of Cumberland, died on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born March 15, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Sadie (Lavin) Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby L. (Mac) McElfish; and by two sisters; and one brother. Mrs. McElfish was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church. She dedicated her life as a mother and housewife. She is survived by four daughters, Roseanne Zimmerman and husband Larry of LaVale, Mary Rita Zombro and husband John P. of Hagerstown, Mary Cecilia McElfish of Cumberland, and Roberta Jean Bobbi Teach and husband Scottie of Williamsport. Also, surviving are nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; and two brothers Cecil Smith of Frostburg and Dale Smith of Salisbury. Friends may call at the Hafer Funeral Service, P.A., Chapel of the Hills, 1302 National Hwy., LaVale on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral and committal services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Monday December 11, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dave Kraft officiating. Interment will be in St. Michaels Catholic Cemetery, Frostburg. Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association of Maryland, 11 Columbia Street, Cumberland, MD 21502.
