- Edward T. Porter in his book The Porters of Colonial Maryland - Henry Porter and Nancy Bowles and Their Descendants in North America 1778-1996" states at page 18: that this Henry was the father of the younger Henry who married nancy Bowles we have not proved doe to the lack of early Maryland and Kentucky records. Howeverm there is overwhelming evidence in favor of this probability.
