Frostburg - James Earl Lavin, 59, of 34 Beall Street, died yesterday at his home after an illness of twelve years. Born at Hoffman, he was the son of the late Michael and Roseann Folk Lavin. Mr. Lavin was a former employee of the city of Frostburg and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, the American Legion, Loyal Order of Moose, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are his widow, Margaret Meagher Lavin, a son, James E. Lavin, Jr., Washington, two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Smith and Miss Edith Lavin, both of Frostburg; two brothers, Clarence, Cumberland, and Vincent, Frostburg, and two grandchildren. FROSTBURG — A requiem mass for James Earl Lavin, 59, of 34 Beall Street, who died Sunday, will be celebrated tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The body is at the Hafer- Sowers Funeral Home where the rosary will be recited today at 8 p.m. Survivors include a daughter, Miss Margaret A. Lavin, Washington.
