Clarence L. Lavin, 66, of 123 Polk Street, died yesterday at his home after a long illness. Born at Hoffman, he was a son of the late Michael and Rose A. (Folk) Lavin. Mr. Lavin was a veteran of World War II and retired in 1966 after 42 years of service to the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and the Holy Name Society. His wife, Eleanor E. (Gerkins) Lavin, preceded him in death. Surviving are two sisters, Miss Edith Lavin and Mrs. Sadie Smith, both of Frostburg, and several nieces and nephews. The body is at the George Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A requiem mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be held today at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
