- FROSTBURG — William Lavin, 62, of 148 Washington Street, died last evening in Miners Hospital. He had been in failing health several years. A veteran of World War I, Mr. Lavin held membership in Farrady Post 24, American Legion, and St. Michael's Catholic Church. Survivors include three brothers, George Lavin, Eckhart; Aden Lavin, Mt. Savage, and Leo Lavin, Finzel Road; and four sisters, Mrs. Bernard Klosterrnan, Welsh Hill; Mrs. Raymond Burrell, Cumberland; Mrs. Hilary Lancaster, Eckhart, and Mrs. Rose Robinson, Frostburg. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home. A requiem mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a. m. in St. Michael's Church. The Legion and John R. Fairgrieve Post 2463, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will accord military honors in the parish cemetery. The Cumberland Evening Times, June 8, 1954
