- Henry (Red) Grossman, 71, of RD 7 died at 1:10 a.m. today in Jameson Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Clayton, N.Y., Aug. 12, 1894, to the late Benjamin and Margaret McClelland Grossman. He married the former Mary Wade Dec. 3, 1923, and was a conductor with the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad for 37 years until he retired. Mr. Grossman was a member of the Madison Avenue Christian Church and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He was a veteran of World War I and served with the Army of Occupation in France and Germany with a U.S. Army Field Artillery Unit. Surviving are his wife, Mary, at home; a brother, Harry of Tarentum, Pa., and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Caskey - Kildoo Funeral Home, 101 W. Madison Ave., from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with Rev. V. Eugene Hydrick of Madison Avenue Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery. The New Castle News, May 20, 1966
