- FROSTBURG — Charles Willard Harvey, 96, of Frostburg, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012 at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born March 19, 1915 in Borden Shaft, to the late Charles S. Harvey and Maggie “McKenzie” Harvey. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Robertson Harvey; two brothers, Robert Dale Harvey and Glen Harvey; and one sister, Wilma Harvey. Mr. Harvey was a retired Financial Contract writer for Maryland State Highway Administration. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and was a member of the Frostburg United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of the Mt. Lodge 99, AF & AM, a 50 year member of Frostburg B.P.O. Elks 470, and Maplehurst Country Club. Surviving are his brothers, Denver L. Harvey, Frederick, and Leland K. Harvey and wife Joan, Columbia; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews. Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at Durst Funeral Home P.A. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Jennifer Weber and the Rev. Karen Tamorria officiating. Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be directed to Frostburg United Methodist Church, PO Box 420, Frostburg, MD 21532.
