- FROSTBURG - Mrs. Gertrude L. McKenzie, 74, of 39 Bowery Street, died Friday, Aug. 3, 1990, at Frostburg Community Hospital. Born March 17, 1916, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Raphael (Parker) Winner. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ben Miller, in 1958. Mrs. McKenzie was co-owner of Mac's Grocery and Frozen Custard on Bowery Street for a number of years. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Surviving are her husband, Ralph “Mac” McKenzie; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Miller and Mrs. Betty Doolan, both of Cumberland; and Mrs. Margaret Morin, Cresaptown; two brothers, John P. Winner, Hopewell, Va.; and Ralph Winner, Flintstone; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church by Monsignor John L. Reinsfelder. Interment will be in the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be conducted Monday at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Cumberland Sunday Times, August 5, 1990
