- LAVALE — Edith June Taylor, 84, of LaVale, died Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Frostburg Village Nursing Center. Born on Oct. 26, 1924, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Iva (Bittner) McKenzie. She was the last surviving member of her family. She worked at the Celanese. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ and a member of the Women’s Guild. Edith is survived by her husband, Charles W. Taylor; two sons, Wayne C. Taylor, at home, and Paul W. Taylor and wife Carla, of Fort Ashby, W.Va.; a granddaughter, Amanda Moreland and husband Jason, of Sabraton, W.Va.; and great-grandson, Joel Moreland. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A. on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, July 27, 2009, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Karen Tamorria officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park. Cumberland Times-News, July 26, 2009
