I John Wilder of Sulham, in the Countie of Bark yeoman beinge fitt of bodye and yett of good and perfect mynd and memorie praysed be god doe ordeine and make this my last will and testament, in manner and forme following "First I comitt my soule to the mercy of Jesus christ my redeemer by whose meritte and passion I trust assuredly to be saved and my bodye to be buried in christian buriall "Item I give unto the church of Sarum fower pence "Item I give unto the churche of Sulham fives shillings "Item I give unto the pore of the parishe of Sulham thre shillings fower pence "Item I give and bequeathe unto my eldest sonne John bWilder /btwelve markes of good and lawfull money of England whereof the one halfe to be employd unto John bWilder /b"Item I give unto Nicholas bWilder /bmy second sonne a quarter of wheat and a quarter of maulle and a cow. And to William bPalmer /bthe younger one shepe. And to Thomas one shepe "Item I give unto John bHiggs /byounger two shepe. Item I give unto Marie bHiggs /btwoe shepe. And Alice bHiggs /bthe children of John bHiggs /bto be delivered as aforesaide "Item I give unto Nicholas bWilder /bthe sonne of Nicholas bWilder /btwoe shepe. And to every of the said Nicholas daughters one shepe a peece "Item I give unto John bWilder /bmy sonnes sonne six shepe to be delivered as aforesaide "Item I give unto every one of my godchildren fower pence a peece to be delivered as aforesaid "Item I give unto Anne bPalmer /bone shepe "Item I give and bequeathe unto Alice my wife all the profitts and comodities that shall come or growe by my ????? on bNunhide /bfarme during her naturall life "Item I give and bequeathe all profitts and comodities that come or growe duringe the wholl yeares then to come after the decease of Alice my wife savinge only my groundes called bBytes /bthe whiche & whiche I will that Thomas my sonne to have the profitts comodities of the same bBytes /bfrom the deathe of Alice my wife unto the end and full terme of the yeares then by lease to come and the residue of yeares then to come after my wives decease I will and bequeathe unto William and Thomas my sonnes to have the full profitts therof by equal portions for and during the wholl yeares whiche shalle then to come of the lease of bNunhide /bonly bBittes /bto Thomas as afore bequeathed "Item I give and bequeathe unto my sister Agnes bEdwards /bto be paide by my executor duringe her life six pence wekely to be paide "Item furter my will is that if Alice my wife shall happen to marrie that at and before the marriage daye she shall paye to the use of our children the some of fortie poundes of good and lawfull English money equally to be devided by the overseers. The residue of all my goods cattells and other things as well moveable and unmoveable unbequeathed my debtes beinge paide and funeralls discharged I doe wholly give and bequeathe to my saide wife Alice bWilder /bwhom I doe ordeine and make my executrix of this my Last will and testament to paye my debtes Legacies and funerall expenses and I doe constitute and make my wellbeloved frendes Fraunces bBarthell /bgentleman and Richard bHore /bsupervisors of this my last will and testament. Provided always that if any person to whom I have given any Legacies in this my Last will doe go about to overthrow any parte or parcell of this my will that any person so doeinge shall lose the benefitt of my bequests herein and that same bequeathe unto those bequeathed shalbe equally devided unto the residue of my children.
