      Malotha Biggs was born January 13, 1815, on his fathers farm in Bear Grass Township, North Carolina. He was the fourth son of Daniel and Elizabeth Biggs.
      Around 1834 MaLothia married Margarett "Peggy" Gilbert and to this union seven sons and two daughters were born.
      Sometime around 1849 Malotha, his wife Margaret, and their first six children moved from Bear Grass North Carolina to Tennessee and settled in Benton County.
