- LONACONING — Mark Steven McKenzie Jr., 18, formerly of Lonaconing and Brooklyn Park, Baltimore, died Saturday, May 6, 1995, at the University of Maryland Hospital Shock Trauma Unit as the result of an auto accident on 1-68. Born Sept. 6, 1976, in Cumberland, he was a son of Mark Steven McKenzie Sr. and friend Sharon Hennessey, Brooklyn Park, Baltimore, and mother Roxanne (Hileman) McKenzie, Cresaptown. Mr. McKenzie was of the Methodist faith. He was formerly employed by Bob Evans Restaurant, LaVale, and was a former student of Westmar Middle School. He played football for the Westernport Cowboys team and was a member of the Satellite Bowling League. Surviving in addition to his parents are two sisters, Tonya Ann McKenzie, Springfield, W.Va., and Kristal Lynn McKenzie, Brooklyn Park, Baltimore; one special nephew, Cody Tyler McKenzie, Brooklyn Park, Baltimore; paternal grandparents, Roy and Thelma McKenzie, Gilmore; maternal grandparents, Jack and Edith Downton, Frostburg; eight uncles and aunts, JoAnn and Edward Lashbaugh, Virginia, Shirley and John Ravenscroft, Lonaconing, Roy and LaNita McKenzie, Midland, Marvin and Donna McKenzie, Gilmore, Gary and Eleanor McKenzie, Lonaconing, Lewis and Wilda McKenzie, Lonaconing, Norman McKenzie and Randy Hileman, both of Westernport; and numerous cousins. Friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, Lonaconing, on Tuesday. Services will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Bernadette Ross officiating.
