- Kerry Eugene McKenzie, 57, of Glen Burnie passed away on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at University of Maryland Shock Trauma Unit from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident while returning from a benefit ride. Born on June 14, 1961, in Cumberland, he was the son of Hazel McKenzie, Finzel, and the late Eugene "Flooze" McKenzie. Mr.
McKenzie was a partner in Parks Construction in Hellthorpe. He loved his wife, friends and motorcycles. He never turned down a benefit ride on his motorcycle and always helped friends and neighbors without their asking.
He was a protector of all living creatures. Kerry loved music concerts, especially real classic rock and roll. He was a member of Glen Burnie Moose Lodge and Cresaptown Eagles. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ruth Ann (Himes) McKenzie; sister, Carolee (McKenzie) Lucas and husband, Mark, Finzel; mother-in-law, Gerty Himes and husband, Glenn C.; sister-in-law, Sally Buck and husband, Lee, Northern Cambria, Pa.; brothers-in-law, Glenn T. Himes, Indiana, Pa., Jeffrey Himes, Tioga, Pa., and Mark Himes, Northern Cambria; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Louis Petruha officiating. Interment will follow in Frostburg Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Zeke Parks, Jeff Himes, Elmer Minnic, Tyler Lucas, Eric Filsinger and Ray McKenzie.
